Confirm that the selected bookmark is the one you intend.

Define the outcome

Save a place from a current position when you have usable location information, or enter coordinates through the manual workflow. Give the record a name you can recognise weeks later. A practical note describes an identifying landmark or entrance without suggesting that the coordinate guarantees access. If the location is private or sensitive, consider that before exporting it to another app.

A saved Waymark place carries a name, coordinates, capture time and accuracy at capture, with optional notes and a photo. It is a bookmark for a real location rather than a street-address search result. A place saved from a weak fix keeps that original uncertainty; a later, better reading does not rewrite the evidence that existed when the place was captured.

Three checks to complete

Similarly named places are not interchangeable destinations.

  • Read its name
  • Check its note and capture context
  • Open Find It Back for that record

Final review

A user has two bookmarks for opposite sides of a site. This is an illustrative scenario, not measured field-test evidence.

When returning later, choose the exact saved record instead of assuming similarly named places are interchangeable. Check the capture context if the entrance has changed or the displayed distance seems unexpected. Delete obsolete records deliberately. For important locations, make a separate export before a device change and verify that the exported coordinates and notes describe the place you intended.
