Remove unnecessary setup decisions before travel.

The task

Set the mounting position, orientation and display mode before the journey. Check that the important labels fit the actual device and that you can read them without leaning or adjusting the phone while moving. A mirrored display is intentionally reversed on the phone; a normal handlebar view is not. Choose the mode for the physical setup rather than for the appearance of a screenshot.

Waymark keeps the driving display focused on distance, speed and location state. The HUD offers a directly readable handlebar mode and a mirrored mode for a suitable reflection setup. The app can keep the screen awake during instrument use, and its burn-in protection can dim and slightly shift the HUD over time. Display options affect presentation, not the underlying trip distance.

Follow the workflow

Decorative preferences should not compete with understanding the reading.

  • Choose units and profile
  • Choose the intended HUD mode
  • Leave detailed preferences for a stop

Review the result

A new user wants a simple repeatable departure routine. This is an illustrative scenario, not measured field-test evidence.

Judge the result on the real screen, in the conditions in which it will be used. A theme preference on a stationary screen does not make every environment equally legible, and the HUD remains deliberately dark. Burn-in protection is a mitigation, not a guarantee against panel ageing. Keep attention on the route and make changes only after stopping in an appropriate place.
