Define the outcome
Choose the profile before starting and confirm the units. The recorder accepts usable location fixes, filters implausible movement and avoids inventing a distance across an unusable gap. Keep Waymark in the foreground during recording. If you leave the app or stop location access, a complete background travel log should not be expected from this release.
A Waymark trip is a recording session with a start and end, accumulated distance, moving and stopped time, a maximum speed and a vehicle profile. It is not a stored line of route points. Trip distance is the main instrument reading; speed remains available beside it. An unfinished session and a saved trip are different states, so the final save is an important part of the workflow.
Three checks to complete
The current trip model is a summary rather than a stored breadcrumb track.
- Open distance and timing
- Read the start and end context
- Use a separate route tool if needed
Final review
A user expects a GPX-style trace after recording. This is an illustrative scenario, not measured field-test evidence.
When you stop, save the session and open its trip detail before exporting or deleting anything. Check the date, duration, vehicle and label. A saved summary helps you remember an outing, but it is not proof that every metre was observed. Keep your own context for interruptions, and use an appropriate independent record when a measurement has formal consequences.
Quick reference
| Item | Meaning | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Moving time | Time counted as moving | Used by the moving-only average |
| Stopped time | Time counted as stopped | Relevant to the overall average |
| Saved distance | Accumulated accepted movement | Does not include invented distance across an unusable gap |
